We have nothing to celebrate...
They said we are celebrating independence but that is not true because the last time I checked the meaning of independence, it is the state of having sufficient means for a comfortable livelihood or the state or quality of being independent; freedom from dependence; exemption from reliance on, or control by others; self-subsistence or maintenance; direction of one's own affairs without interference.
Tell me who in this country is having a sufficient means for a comfortable livelihood?
The answer is nobody!
Nigeria is termed the world capital of poverty where the citizenry live below one dollar per day. Some find it difficult to feed three times per day.
Should we forget the killings going on in Nigeria that is becoming a daily culture or should we forget the bill which would have passed into law that is against the freedom of speech?
If I am free why am I afraid to go to to church because of some group whose plan is to islamize Nigeria 🇳🇬
No freedom of speech, movement and to live: almost all the inalienable rights of the citizens are becoming alienable.
Or should we forget the Police brutality and extortion of the citizens they are meant to protect?
ARE WE REALLY FREE IN REALITY OR IN CONCEPT?
We should be celebrating our dependence, oh yes it is the truth for we rely on IMF to borrow loan which would be used for nothing. We are not free we are in chains ⛓️
*Nigeria is 60 years old and 60 is for retirement age...can we retire Nigeria and start afresh?*🤷♀️🤷♀️
SIXTY FOR NOTHING
Nigeria 🇳🇬 is sixty this is her history,
1960 was her glory and victory,
When she was freed from being a colony,
Let's now see her story.
She is the Giant of Africa,
But in her is full of massacre,
For her rulers are the British in replica,
We are not free so freedom is not our cantata.
Freedom of speech is at its Waterloo,
While employment is at its very low.
Sixty years is not 60 days.
We should be sons and not a maid,
As we serve our fatherland we may reap our gain,
So free us from our pain,
Do not be our lade or bane,
Rather show us the way,
That your leaders may not sway,
from the role which they are to play,
Unite us and do not drive us all away,
All these and many more we do pray.
