Hence, there is no need to panic, this article will give you a clue. The only thing that is required of you is to read it with maximum attention and understand the analysis.

First of all, it will interest you the the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the cut of mark for universities, polytechnics and college of educations. In the announcement made, the cut-off mark for universities is 150 and above, whereas Polytechnics is 130 and above while 120 is for college of educations. Universities here include both federal, State and private and the same thing applies to Polytechnics and college of educations.

From this, people who scored 130, 120 and 110, will be afraid and might also have lost hope of getting admission into the university. Never loss hope until you finish this article. This might change for good and you might have 85% chances of going to university with your current score.

It is important for you to know that 1,837,011 candidates were captured for 2022 JAMB registration, that is to say that 1.8m persons registered and out of the 1.8m persons that registered or captured, 1.4m persons sat for the examination.

According to the Cumulative Performance Statistics (CPS) of 2022 JAMB UTME, 404,542 scored 200 & above whi h therefore means that 1,432,469, scored below 200. In Nigeria, there are 170 universities. As of 2021, 79 were private, federal universities amounted to 43, while state universities were 48.  In addendum to the number of universities, there are 17 Federal and 26 State owned Polytechnic Colleges respectively. Let us not talk of college of educations for now.

Mind you that a university has many faculties and these faculties may take up to 1000 to 2,000 candidates. Assuming therefore that a university has 6 faculties, that is, 2,000 × 6 = 12,000. Therefore, a federal or state university is likely to give admission to 12,000 persons. If such is the case, let us multiple 12,000 to the number of federal and state universities in Nigeria which is 43 + 48 = 91. 91 ×  12,000= 1,092,000. Hence, for state and federal universities, a total number of 1,092,000 are likely to get admission into the university and hence the people that crossed 200 and above in 2022 JAMB examination are only 404,502 persons. The margins is much. Which means people who scored 110 and above in 2022 are likely to get admissionn into universities. Is this not good news to you? If you have written JAMB therefore, be positive and get ready for university.
