An Open Letter to All Progressives Congress a.k.a APC

Dear APC,

Congratulations, try harder

It is no doubt that the APC party, under the leadership of PMB, has failed Nigerians and so, people have lost interest and hope in the party’s credibility of presenting Nigerians with a credible candidates for 2023 presidential election triggered by numerous hardship inflicted on the citizens of this great country, Nigeria from 2015 passing through 2019 and till now. This situation that the party’s choicest candidate and flag bearer of 2015 and 2019 has caused Nigerians who are feed up with corruption and hard/high cost of living in Nigeria to rise up to political consciousness as 2023 election approaches; that they will see to the best, that a better candidate would be presented for 2023 election.

APC as a party so to say, might have realized the condition she has placed Nigeria and Nigerians, and so has shown that she would not like the history of 2015 till date, to repeat itself again and so, the party through the APC screening panel for 2023 presidential aspirants, has shown to Nigerians that they can also be trusted through the rigorous methods of their screening. Out of twenty three (23) aspirants that bought presidential form, ten (10) were screened out, remaining only 13 aspirants that will be voted for in the fort coming APC convention where they will hold their primary elections.

By this, they are trying to regain the people’s trust that the party can also be trusted again and they will not fail Nigerians. The kpim of the matter here is that, if they really mean to gain the peoples trust, they should not listen to anybody who is or might have suggested that they should allow him appoint his successor rather they should know that the country is democratic as the constitution says and ascension into any office, is by vote and not by appointment. They should this time, present Nigerians with a younger aspirant and not calling someone who supposed to have retired from politics to make him party’s flag bearing.

As of zoning, I personally do not buy the idea of giving a Yoruba or Hausa or an Igbo man to be the flag bearer on the basis of zoning, rather I support merit. By merit, I mean credibility, accountability, intellectualism, and history free of any theft or embezzlement of the people’s fund/money and no an old man. By this, we can project a better Nigeria, secure a better tomorrow for our children and a palatable living for every Nigerians.
