Education covers formation in learning and character and not one of the two. A person deformed in character cannot be said to be educated
Yesterday night, a video of a student of University of Nigeria Nsukka dancing half naked went viral in the air. According to people who were there that witnessed the event of the dancing, the young student of 100L identified as Miss Obi Mirabel of MLS who is a resident of Presidential Hall, one the hostels of the university, danced half naked in Akpabio Hall in order to win a VIP ticket of 10k and a cash of #100,000. This however, drew the attention of the management of the university who tagged the girl’s attitude as immoral. According to one of the managements who spoke at the site of the event addressing the students, that singular character destroyed humanity, the image of the University and womanhood and therefore, she will not only be expelled from the university but also be prosecuted.
Some of the students saw the girl’s attitude as being nothing by saying that they are in the university and not in some religious convent. For them, everyone is different and can act based on their energy and there are many ways to caution and conscientize the girl and not in the way they are treating the matter as if to say the girl has committed a whole lots of crimes more than everyone in the world.
For these set of students who saw the girl’s act as not what the school tagged it, the school should first prosecute themselves because if they (UNN Administrators) didn’t destroyed humanity by sex grades, humanity was not destroyed by the condition of boy’s hostel and humanity was not destroyed by electrocution of student in the school hostel, if humanity was not destroyed by all these carried out by the school administration, then, humanity was not destroyed by a woman twerking.
Following
these incident a letter released by Prof. Edwin Ogechukwu Omeje, Dean of
Students, found in one of the UNN Whatsapp groups called UNN hostels babes, to
the Ag CSO, The entire University Community, the SUG and All campuses, the
following should be strictly followed immediately:
1 All forms of shows; show adverts via
all forms of music, visitation of DJs with loud music to halls of residence are
hereby suspended indefinitely. All concerned are to take note and comply
without fail.
2 The use of convoy cars especially
unmarked vehicles for any form of show/advert for shows is now banned till further
notice.
3 Entry into any hostel for all forms of
advert involving loud music is now banned. Hall supervisors to take note for
strict compliance.
4 Efforts are on to fish out the alleged
strip dancer, Obi Mirabel and send her o students Disciplinary Board in
preparation for her expulsion from the University of Nigeria. Such behaviour
cannot be condoned in this University.
5 This action by a supposed student of UNN is totally condemnable and without an accompanying drastic punishment, other students will not desist from such reprobate character.
